Advanced Placement
Each year, students around the world who want to learn and achieve at the highest level become AP students. Through AP's college-level courses and exams, you can earn college credit and advanced placement, stand out in the admissions process, and learn from our dedicated staff of AP instructors.  LMHS is proud to offer 20 AP courses in a wide variety of subjects for students to take during their high school years.  These courses include:

At LMHS students do the following to enroll in an AP course:
  • Be approved for honors through the Matador Scholar Academy (MSA)*
  • Meet the course prerequisetes as outlined in the LMHS course catalog
  • Be willing to take the AP exam in May (or the equivalent)
  • Be willing to complete a summer project the summer before the start of the AP course (only AP Literature, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics)
